The Elizabeth Wesley Youth Merit Incentive Award Program is a community-driven initiative that celebrates and supports African-American students in Pierce County. We inspire African-American youth to strive for excellence by recognizing their academic, civic, and personal accomplishments.
Started in 1995–96, the Program was named in honor of Elizabeth Wesley, a local leader dedicated to youth and community service. What started with just five students has now awarded over 3,800 youth across seven Pierce County school districts.
